You may be exercising a little selective perception. I–and my Caucasion friends who’ve gone to the restroom with me–are compulsive about hand-washing. Several of us are in the habit of using an extra bit of paper towel to open the door, so that we don’t have to touch the handle with clean hands. This one hardly seems race-based.
