Im not sure if its a custom, but its bascially just manners which derived from what we call home-training. A man opens the door, pulls your seat out, pushes your chair in, and so on so forth. It’s just showing repect for the ladies. In so many countries females are considered inferior, but its time that we are showed some respect and be treated like ladies. Opening the door for us won’t kill you
