I understand exactly what you mean and am amazed at all of the responses received from people who did not know there existed a ‘white culture’ in the United States. I teach white heritage and awareness, along with civil rights issues. Some people say ‘I didn’t know whites needed civil rights!’ Most whites are not raised as ‘white,’ and through media and other resources, they have some guilt about even mentioning the term ‘white.’ Me, I’m proud, I am a white woman who never apologizes for being the race she is.
