If you look at many African societies, you will notice that Africans are a very rhythmic people. They incorporate drum beats and rhythm in alot of their tribal rituals. That is were we come from, so naturally we have aquired a certain 'inner rhythm'. During the slavery days, many slaves incorporated important messages through song, which the overseers and plantation owners could not understand. Ever heard the song 'Wade in the Water'? That was actually a code song field hands used to sing to let the other slaves know that a meeting or escape was planned for that night. You can just say a natural sense of rhythm is in our blood. (p.s. Since I already know it is coming, let me say that, yes, there are Blacks who cannot dance as well as Whites and Asians that can.)

Beth, after reading your post, I would be ashamed to be white if I were. That is the most moronic piece of dribble I have ever seen! Plenty of food in AFRICA? Are we talking about the hottest and driest continent in the WORLD? You cannot honestly believe that load of crap Beth, can you? Blacks and Decent Whites laugh at people like you. It is just sooo hard to believe any half-way intelligent individual would post something like that! Sweetie, for the record, do not turn to someone who hates a certain race for scientific evidence of the inferiority of the race! You just wind up doing what you just did, look like a complete fool. Why don't you go to Africa and spend a summer there ...I am sure you would throw out your little pitiful theory of African life being easy before the sun set the first day.African life was probably harder than European life back then. When you are cold, you can start a fire to help warm you up, but when it is 104 degrees outside, there is NOTHING you can do but sit there and suffer. Do you think they had air-conditioning or something? Beth, try using just a tad bit of common sense before you spout the rantings of an ididot; remember the only one dumber than a fool is the fool who believes him.

What about all rock parties where people overdose on coke and heroin all night...Would you rather go to one of those? (oh, and I am sure those parties don't end at midnight, my friend!)

Why do white girls say 'like' after every other word, and do that annoying hair flip thing? To me, that is even more irritating than making gestures while speaking.....

I have heard that said among Black people as well. Whites do not realize it, but the odor of their hair is similar to a dogs fur when it gets wet. The reason behind this (I have been told) is that white hair has a softer and more porous texture (just like a dogs fur) than Asian or Black hair. The texture absorbs odor and dirt more than Black hair, and the scalp creates more oil and sebum than black hair. That is why whites have to wash their hair everyday (or every other day), and blacks do not. No, the smell does not linger...noone is impling white people stink all the time, only that white hair does have an odor when wet.

The answer to that is simple, Aboriginal and African woman are not the same. They are two completely different ethnicities with different ethnic features. Just b/c both have dark skin does not make them the same.

Yes, I have heard that many times from Black men. I have even heard some white girls bragging about the fact that black men want them b/c they don't give as much 'lip' and are more willing to give them freedoms. This, in my opinion, is the same thing you are saying. What they do not realize is the very reasons black men are dating them is b/c they can talk to them any way and they accept it, or they can easily cheat on them b/c they allow them to be TOO free. I do not know if any of this is true, having never dated a white girl, but all my friends and family who have say that is one of the reasons. In my opinion, it is a sorry man that can't handle a strong woman.

I agree. Just because your race did it doesn't mean we will. Why? Because we know how it feels. It has been done to us for centuries.

And Adam, what is a 'disproportionate number of minorities'? Proportionate to what? How many minorities are we allowed to have in corporate america?Think of it like this Adam :suppose Big Corp. Inc. needed more bisexuals on their team. They find out you are bisexual, and call you in for an interview (notice that your bisexuality got you IN THE DOOR, not the job). They also interview your neighbor Jack, who is straight, but does not have your experience. They offer you the job after a brilliant interview. Soon Jack is telling the whole neighborhood you got the job b/c of your sexuality, not understanding it was not your sexuality that got you the job, but your experience. Jack did not see your resume, or hear how wonderful your interview went, he just assumes you were picked b/c of your sexuality. Same thing here Adam. Our skin color may get us through the door initially, but WE get the job. We would not apply for a postion in which we are obviously not qualified. It is unfortunate that you are 42 and still have this attitude, but I guess being black in america and having to deal with people with attitudes such as yours have matured me past my 22 years. Next time, check to see if a BETTER man was hired, not just a BLACK man.

Our cuisine stems from our history. Back in slavery, the slave master and his family enjoyed the choicest part of any dish. The master got the pork loin; the slaves got the pig's feet. The master got the turnips; the slaves got the turnip greens. The master got the chicken legs and breasts; the slaves got the chicken gizzards and feet. The master got the broccoli and beans ; the slaves got the collards and kale. We (blacks) eventually learned how to cook and flavor these foods so that they tasted like something we could choke down. After years of making these dishes, we found that even when we could afford the nicer parts of the animal, we had learned to cook our 'slave foods' so well and they tasted so good, that it became our own or 'soul food' as we like to call it. That is also the reason blacks tend to use more salt and seasoning on our foods; we did not have the luxury of having pricer seasonings such as rosemary, thyme, or basil to season our food....we had mainly salt and pepper, which was cheap and plentiful.I know many blacks that cannot eat foods prepared by whites, b/c whites historcally do not season their foods as strongly as many blacks prefer and are used to.

Your question is a good one, and one I have wondered about myself (being a black female). My opinion is mult-faceted. I think white woman may be so attracted to black men b/c of the whole 'tall dark and handsome' thing (key word here is dark) that has taken over the stardard of handsomeness (is that a word?) in this society. Also the whole 'big black penis' thing may have something to so with it. Also, many white girls like to rebel. How many times have you seen the image of the blonde preppy white chick riding into the sunset on the back of some delinquent's Harley? Dating a black man is the ultimate slap in her father's face, and many black guys are seen as 'delinquent' or 'rebels'. As far as the black man goes, I think that their attraction to white woman is twofold. The first is the whole 'forbidden fruit' concept. For centuries, white women were strictly forbidden to date, or even look at a black man, and vise versa. As the old saying goes, you always want what you can't have. Secondly, I believe that our society has alot to do with it. White features are considered the most beautiful, white hair is the loveliest, and white skin is the most desirable. This affects the way many black men view black women. There are not many kinky-haired dark women on the cover of Sports Illustrated, and Playboy and Hustler may feature one black woman per issue. If black men are constantly bombarded with 'white is right' images, and seeing that hardly any of their women are put on such pedestals, they are more likely to turn to those woman who they( as well as society) view as the most beautiful. As you can see, this trend of interracial dating does not occur with such frequency when it comes to white men and black women.White men were not forbidden to bed black women ...it actually happened quite frequently, but was very hush-hush. White men are not bombarded with images of the beauty of the black woman, and black women are frequently taught to to stay away from white boys, b/c of the whole penile inadequecy myth. I am starting to see the white boy/black girl thing alot more nowadays, probably b/c of the influence of hip-hop on mainstream America; now hip-hop is the 'cool' type of music, and among many white males, it is now 'cool' to have a black girl.

Why is it that whenever blacks start to make some strides, it has to be b/c we are black? Why can't it be b/c we ACTUALLY deserve the postion? Whenever blacks start to come up in the workplace, it seems many whites pull the old 'affirmitive action' thing out of their hats.Whites have been privliged enough to enjoy 'white affirmative action' since this friggin country was built. The tables turn and NOW that whites are not at the recieving end it is so wrong? I did not hear Whites whine about discrimination when blacks were the ones being passed over for every job other than a cook, maid, or brick layer.PLEASE! Can you not deal with the fact that some blacks may be getting picked over whites b/c they are simply (gasp!) BETTER? That they may have had more experience or a better work ethic? Could the black person just have had a better resume and went to a better school? Why are none of these factors ever considered? Adam, have you looked at the resume's of every black in this country? Of course you haven't. You are just assuming that these blacks were picked b/c of their skin color, not b/c they were better candidates. Why can some whites not admit that there are blacks that are smarter, more experienced and more educated than they? My parents make a combined $128,000 a year and I went to a very nice private university and recieved a great education, but if I were picked over a white girl, it would be seen as affirmative action.
