Like many you have bought the media soundbites about ebonics. Think about it: don’t some black kids already speak this language called ‘ebonics?’ So why would they have to be taught it? What ‘ebonics’ really was, was an attempt by teachers to get text books that have ‘ebonic’ terms in them so the kids could learn proper english. Simple as that, nothing more.
