I am a Presbyterian seminary student. In my eyes, in a larger sence, Presbyterians are evangelicals. An evangelical is someone who carries the good news of the gospel into the world, and Presbyterians do that. However, in the US, the term ‘evangelical’ has a narrower term. Here, evangelicals tend to be Biblical fundamentalists (literalists), and tend to emphysize that individuals need to convert to Christianity. Some Presbyterians are fundamentalists, but most take a neo-orthodox or a liberal view on the Bible. We tend to emphysize coversion less. We tend to emphysize community over the individual.
