Latter Day Saints believe in three books of scripture: the Bible, the Book of Mormon and the Pearl of Great Price. The Pearl of Great Price is where Mormons get the information on Kolob. We believe the Pearl of Great Price contains writings from Abraham and Moses. Contained with the Abraham writings are a few passages that describe a place called Kolob, which is where we believe our Heavenly Father exists. The writings do not imply we are from there or that it is where we are going. The passages in Abraham are interesting to us, but that’s about it, as they do not ‘save my soul,’ so to speak. Church leaders have made comments over the years but the Pearl of Great Price is the best source for our actual beliefs on the subject.
