I went to my firt gyno appointment the other day. Anyway my doctor a female made me have a pap test when I just wanted an updated std testing. At the end of my test she said that she would send my pap smear to my family doctor,so that I could go on birth control, I then told her I don’t use and would not be needing birth control, she then told yes at some point you will need it. I then told her that no I would not need it, then she told me that condoms dont always work and that I did not want to get pregnant. Why is it that she never asked me my sexual orientation or considered that I might not be straight? I felt so unrecognized.
