Do mentally challenged people know that they’re mentally challenged or do they think of themselves like everybody else?

I don’t know if I can answer this one completely but from my experience, being a mother of a child that has a physical disability as well as some cognitive imparement, that the answer to this question is yes they do. In my opinion it depends on the disability and the environment they are raised in. If they are raised in an environment where they are predominantly with people of their own ability level, then probably less so than if they are in a “mainstream” environment. It also depends on the reception they have gotten from others around them. Juliana is the name of the girl and she goes to a regular school now and one of the stories they did related her introduction to kindergarden and how those children went from pointing fingers to being her friends. I am willing
