Are there places were people are still treated badly for their religion?

Ummmm… The U.S.? Try being Jewish anywhere except the East Coast. Try being a Jewish CONSERVATIVE anywhere. In this country, right now, near the end of the first decade of the 21st Century, referring to being ripped off as “being Jewed” is still perfectly acceptible nomenclature across the board. To this list you can add the entire Middle East, a lot of Africa, much of Europe, and large swaths of Asia. It would be easier to list places where people AREN’T treated badly for their religion. Off the top of my head, Iceland, Greenland and (maybe) Denmark come to mind… BadKarma!

More complex answer, it depends on where you go. Discrimination because of religion occurs in every part of the world, but its worse in some places than others. Even in the US, there are areas where people who are not Christians are treated poorly. Near where I live, Wiccan bookstores have been picketed by members of the radical religious right. Jews have had headstones in cemetaries desecrated. Churches have had anti-Christian graffiti spray-painted on them. In some areas of the US, non-Chrisitans are virtually shunned. And that’s in a country where we’re guaranteed the right to follow the religion of our choosing. In countries where there is a state religin, it can be even worse. Love and Light, Rev. Shelly

It took Pagans over a decade to get permission to mark the grave of their fallen veterans with a symbol of their faith while smaller sects of Christianity have gotten their specific symbols approved in less than a year. Our current President has even been quoted that he does not believe our faith is a real religion. With leadership like that, how discriminatory do you think the people they serve might be?
