if you google “pretty ricky – midnight special” you will see a video depicting an interesting phenomenon. it is a group of five suburban black males entering a dark room one at a time and taking turns simulating sex with a piece of sectional furniture. they then circle around the room dry-humping the walls, the air and each other. it was later discovered that this was intended to be a demo tape of their dancing skills. so, while it’s nice that they are not participating in the sort of atavistic violence their counterparts in the city are prone to, it would seem that a better economic environment only encourages expression of the latent atavistic sexuality of blacks (i.e. when a dog humps furniture). is this why the illegitimacy and aids rates in the black community are so disproportionately high while black representation in intellectual life is so disproportionately low?
