Of course I’d heard other men talking about clueless women drivers before but I assumed it was just that they resented women ‘intruding’ into what used to be a male domain. Until the day… I learned to drive. Every day I encounter morons – both men and women – on the road (maybe I’m one myself and just don’t realise the fact but that’s besides the point)but the large majority, I’d say around three quarters, are women. Most of the time they just seem totally oblivious that they’ve nearly torn my wing-mirror off or failed to stop for pedestrians at a crossing or whatever. They seem to have a problem with spatial relationships. I have noticed this in other situations such as blocking half the pavement with a pram and making no effort at all to minimise the obstruction to other people or standing blocking the way while talking to someone or stopping dead to look in a shop window whilst on a crowded city pavement so you nearly fall over them or suddenly deciding to reorganise the contents of their purses at a supermarket checkout, the list goes on and on. I’m not misogynist and christ knows there are plenty of stupid men about too but can any women enlighten me?
