Women and Feet

Many women I have known are very obsessed or embarrassed regarding the size of their feet (and shoe size). They often will go to the point of getting shoes that are too small for them, or concealing their shoe size from others. I find this strange. Why do women care? It can’t be ‘the media’ because Cosmo and Playboy do not feature pictures of women’s feet. When I first notice a woman, I do not look at her feet. I have no idea what Pamela Anderson’s shoe size is. I have never met a man that uses a shoe size criteria to describe his ideal woman. Usually I have no idea what my female friends’ shoe sizes are unless we go bowling, and even then, it isn’t something I remember for more than 5 seconds. Foot size generally runs with height– tall women have larger feet than short women. If I did meet a 6′ tall woman with a size 1 foot or a 5′ tall woman with a size 12 foot, I would just casually notice, and then probably forget within an hour. So, ladies, what am I missing?
