RhondaOutlawMemberAfrican-American men suffer greatly from this insecurity. In our community, more and more African-American women are graduating from college, and parlaying that education into fine careers. Many African-American women are also experiencing the ‘American Dream’: they are buying their own homes. However, while African-American women are reaping the benefits of a good college education, the numbers of African-American men enrolling in college is rapidly dwindling. And for the few who attend, the majority drop out before completion. This causes some African-American men to take less than well-paying jobs; others turn to crime and end up in prison. In fact, there are more African-American men in prison than there are in college. This is why African-American men are especially intimidated by successful African-American women.

Elizabeth EliadesParticipantSimple. Most men have inferiority complexes. They are intimidated by independent, intelligent women. Would any male care to challenge my analysis?

PeteParticipantIt’s because you scare the crap out of them. Most men know deep down that women are better at doing most things, so they look for someone they can keep under control. I must have feminine tendencies (a lesbian trapped in a man’s body I guess) because I have always found intellegent, independant women to be very attractive. Not all men are savage cave-dwellers, you are probably looking in the wrong places.
