Hi, I’m an Australian, and I’ve noticed through travelling the world that my beloved Aussie culture helps me understand certain groups of people (Thais, Germans, Swedes, Italians) but also hinders me from understanding certain groups of people, specifically Chinese, Israelis, British and United States Americans. So here are my observations: Israelis: I don’t understand you at all. Australia has no war, no real enemies, tiny armed forces, and little tradition. Yours has constant war, numerous enemies, everyone has to join the army, and the most ancient cultural tradition in the west. An Australian hasn’t got much cultural tradition to defend and plenty of land and friends. Israelis, why can’t you just let go of your ancient tradition, give up on an agreement with Palestine, forget who’s wrong or right, and let the Palestinians have their land back? When Israeli’s get onto politics their words get sort of drunk or crazy ike they’re possessed by demons, and I wish they’d just settle down a bit!
