[Art Vandelay]

My girlfriend seems to enjoy the company of gay men as much as or even a little more than my company. We’ve been together for about two years and we’re very close- it’s not like I’m one of those ultra-masculine can’t express feelings types. Whenever she hears about a gay man, though, she gets excited as if he were a celebrity. It’s not just her, either. I know many other girls who just go crazy for them. Does anybody know why some girls have an affinity for gay men? My interest is not fueled by homophobia or any related form of bigotry/hatred/etc. I’m also a sociology major, which makes me even more interested.
