I have seen white people kiss their dogs on the mouth, or let their dog just come up and lick them in the mouth. What's up with that?

My dogs, two Beagles, aren't security animals, they're like little friends. When they're happy, they try and lick me on the face. It's gross, but funny at the same time.

I've also been known to let dogs lick my face, albeit not to excess. Human mouths, or so I've heard, are dirtier than a dog's or cat's mouth, despite their cleaning practices.

Just make sure the human mouth is closed. As for licking the dog's mouth, yuck!

Knowing why they do it is why I accept it. It shows that I am the leader of the pack. I am the Alpha in the hiarchy of our family. Plus I just love them dogs!

Do you know that dogs lick on their private parts and have fleas. Gross

As a Latino I've also noticed that white people also let their animals live inside the house like humans and jump all over the furniture, etc. I think we always viewed them as animals first. You can still love them but they are still animals. So it's the same with kissing the dogs... it has seemed to me that they view their animals as pretty much human. I don't understand it either and i've always been curious.

It disgusts me when I see people thrusting their tongues down one another's throats because I am aware how quickly bacteria travels through human saliva, and what kind of bacteria just loves to make its home there. Letting a dog lick you actually makes more sense; cats and dogs both have much cleaner saliva than humans do, because canine and feline saliva contain massive doses of anti-bacterial cells, which is why when a dog or a cat gets a cut, it heals more quickly than our own - because they are born with the tools to clean their wounds themselves. A dog or cat's mouth is much cleaner than your own simply because their saliva is more sterile in order to combat more strains of bacteria. A dog kissing a person's face is much more sanitary than a person kissing a person's face.
