Though it may be debated in some circles, I think it's safe to say that forms of sexuality and sexual practice like heterosexuality, bisexuality, homosexuality and genital, anal and oral sex are pretty much conventional and engaged in by all races. However, why is it that the most disgusting, crazed and depraved forms of sexuality (things like incest, being beaten until bruised or scarred, bestiality, being fisted, drinking urine, being defecated upon, necrophilia, etc.) are almost always the province of whites? What's that about?

I don't really know, but I have a feeling that in a lot of 'white cultures,' like Scandinavia, people don't talk a lot about feelings and sexuality, at least not sincerly. When things are so forbidden, it may seem more exciting. Just a thought; I don't do that strange stuff myself.

Depravity and 'unacceptable behavior' seem to go hand-in-hand with civilization. Civilization breeds boredom. And for the moment, Western civilization seems to be run by white men. I believe many people wish to experience sensations that are unacceptable inside their society. The limits of what is acceptable are set by the common experience of that society. Where I live, snowboarding or mountain climbing are perverse and unacceptable. On the other hand, drugs and misogynistic sexual behavior are a way of life. I believe sooner or later that we will find out that people of many cultures are performing the same selfish acts that many white men are known to do (via various media, which is limited in many arenas). I think it all comes down to access to information. Like any other drug, sexual stimulation can have expanding tolerance levels, and people are eager to find out how far they can go before something kills or injures them.

To blame such behavior on the boredom brought on by civilization demeans and limits the concept of civilization itself. There are other albeit non-white civilizations, some more long lived and certainly no less legitimate, where such behaviors are not so characterizing. And, as pointed out in the question, there are other non-white ethnic groups even within the white-male dominated western civilization that do not embrace such depraved behaviors. To suggest that these other systems or non-white groups are somehow less civilized because they are less boring or less bored shows the extent to which some whites will seemingly go to put a coat of decency on any white behavior, regardless to how aberrant or depraved it may be by he standards of almost anyone else. This outrageously self-serving attitude of exonerating white behavior, too often accompanied by equally excessive criticism of the behaviors of non-whites, seems to underly so much of the abuse and destructed wrecked on mankind by so many whites.

I am white, and as a married woman I enjoy frequent sex with my husband. Ordinary intercourse and oral sex are the only practices in which we indulge. Here's the thing, the original poster wasn't saying that all white people are sexual deviants, they're just saying that there seems to be a much higher instance of incest, bestiality, etc among white people than among black people. Honestly, I have noticed this too. I'm not black, but I live in a black neighborhood, listen to a lot of black music, read black literature. I'm not saying that I totally understand the culture just from reading some books, but I will say that my current perception about black sexuality is that it is very much about fellatio and straight-up intercourse. I rarely hear or read anything about bondage, fetishes, S&M or any other 'fringe' practices, most of the S&M or fetish literature I've read have been by white writers. Just an observation.

I'm somewhat surprised that the responses to this question assume that the premise is true. Whites engage in the most disgusting behavior? What about Rick James and his physical abuse? What about Prince and his, well, everything? What about Michael Jackson and that Macauley Culkin thing? What about Chuck Berry and his 'brown games?' All were African American, all did some pretty weird stuff. Your real question should be 'is this really race-specific behavior?' I think the answer would be that it is class and not race. The affluent have historically been pretty good at coming up with bizarre ways to spend their idle time. It just so happens that most of the affluent have been white up until recently.

I doubt only whites engage in the more extreme sexual practices you mentioned. I'm sure people of other races do these things, too, but they're smart enough to keep it in the bedroom. White people, on the other hand, like getting caught on tape. They like keeping memorabilia (homemade films, pictures) and sharing their wrongness with the world (it always seems there's another porn site popping up on the web).

Psychologists say we're not born with our fetishes, rather we develop them all from experiences in our lifetime. This seems to indicate that perversion is just part of white culture. However, that can't be the case, as people of all races now live together in the same culture - yet we whites still maintain our pervertedness. It must therefore be that white people, although not being born perverts, are somehow more prone to developing fetishes. But why would we evolve this way? Well, sex is the main thing that drives evolution, so it seems to me that any race that is more sexually preoccupied has an evolutionary advantage. The more fetishes you have, the more opportunity there'll be for sexual arousal, therefore the more perverted a race, the higher its success of continuation. So perhaps white people's pervertedness is just an evolutionary strength that has helped us survive in the past. It may be that this evolved in us to compensate for other weaknesses - like maybe we're not very good at dating?

I don't get it, either. My best guess is that white culture (well, northern Europen culture) is much less open about sexuality - until very recently, all sex was thought of as somehow dirty, kids were given vague euphemisms to explain sex to them, and parents weren't openly affectionate in front of children. When you grow up in a culture where nobody talks about sex and it's sort of nasty and dirty to begin with, the taboo of sex itself becomes associated with other taboos. Enjoying sex is akin to or associated with enjoying other bad things - pain, shit, etc. Of course, this is not true of all white people or parents or households; many of them have very healthy attitudes toward sex. But I do think that Latino and black cultures are more open about sexual desire, and perhaps that's why fewer black and Latino people are into kink. Of course, there's also the argument that in America, there are just more white people; if less than 20 percent of the population is black, and a small percentage of the population has a thing for whips and chains, it's going to be a very small part of the population who's both black and into whips and chains.

Perhaps part of the reason for the current trends in the subcultures of some American whites toward the more self-destructive forms of sexuality comes from subconscious reactions to society's historical burden. Although I don't believe there is any such concept as 'race' anymore, as Western society, we do, and we move more toward self-segregation every day. There is a current trend of placing responsibility for any problem a non-white 'race' is having on the white 'race'. Even if I do buy into the racial divisions, I am not a slaveowner or a racist or anti-affirmative action, yet some groups would still have me feel guilty because of the color of my skin. And I think that is having an effect on some people, particularly young people, who are turning to any sort of self-destructive behavior they can to relieve this enormous guilt.
