I can’t imagine how difficult it must be for non-whites in our society. I hear racist remarks from white people every day and I am disgusted and ashamed. I see them act nice while someone of color is around and as soon as they leave all the the bullshit starts and it sickens me. Depending on the situation, I usually speak up on my opinion, usually to dumbfounded stares like I am the one wrong ! I hear the ‘n’ word almost daily used by both blacks and whites and it sickens me. For blacks, using it doesn’t lessen its hurt and just gives whites validity to repeat it. For whites, I don’t care what context you use it, it is abhorable. I am ashamed of my race and my country for its treatment of so-called minorities. Intolerance and racism are scourges on our society. A note to folks who embrace ebonics, you can’t get respect if you sound uneducated. It’s no different for the redneck. I better stop before I rant all night…. comments?
