I’ve seen/heard, in the black media and black communities, many discussions about slavery but have yet yet to see/hear any discussion/article/post about the current slavery in Africa (by blacks or arabs), child labor in India (by Indians) female servitude in the middle east (by arabs) or sex slave trafficing in Eastern Europe (by Eastern Europeans) Are African Americans not concerned by slavery per se but only that which affected their ancestors? are they aware of modern-day slavery? are they concerned only about opression of black people by white people? How do people from countries that continue to allow slavery feel when hearing AAs talking about slavery?
