I would love for a "Latino activist" to tell me why it seems they are pushing an agenda that will guarantee a massive, uneducated underclass unfit to govern itself. Wouldn't it be more empowering to encourage education, discourage unwed motherhood, preach the advantages of having fewer children and try to prepare the soon to be majority in the US to take a leading role? In L.A. the nearly 50% high school drop out rate doesn't seem to concern immigrant parents who value a son with an $8 per hour construction job over one with a college diploma. Is anyone even working on this? All the L.A. Times does is celebrate our descent into mediocrasy. Surely there are people out there working to change this. I hope.
