My question is for left-wing or liberal oriented activists. I’ve had several friends, some of them close, of such persuasions. However, I notice that many are aggressive and belligerent when it comes to pushing their views. Street confrontations with people they don’t know, shouting, ranting and screaming at people who attempt to debate with them, painting their opposition as ‘fascists’ and ‘pigs’, and labeling anyone who disagrees as ‘ignorant’ or a ‘sell-out.’ Wouldn’t more civility bring more respect, and perhaps a listening ear? I myself am somewhat progressive in various areas (morally conservative, socially liberal/radical), but I get flak for not being 100% down with the left.
