Zel C.MemberHow do you exactly know if you are gay or not? It’s taken me the better part of 25 years of self-discovery (w/o dating) to realize I do hold fascinations or attractions to men. I think I may be gay, but part of me is unsure! I spoke to a coworker of mine and revealed I’d like to start dating and establishing a friendship with a female, but I fear I’d be using the situation and the person to find answers to my problem as a personal test. I’d rather not go that route of using someone in this sense. I wish to ‘come out’ completely to loved ones, besides my sister, but I confront discrimination on every side of the coin: being a minority, dealing with religious conviction, the community and other family members. What’s the best way to determine if I’m gay without dating, and approaching more societal stereotypes in ‘coming out’ to others (family/community)? Plus, I’d like to know where other gay individuals normally frequent to meet friends, or possibly even find that special someone? I have friends and coworkers, yet harbor a feeling of lonliness and not having someone like me to talk to or meet with by phone, email or in person.
