Is ‘Ms.’ now the title preferred for both unmarried women and women who don’t want to reveal their status? I don’t see ‘Miss’ used much these days, except perhaps to address young girls or for unmarried alumnae of more traditional girls’ schools. ‘Ms’ seems to be the term used, even of a woman is known to be unmarried. Do women really prefer it? I personally prefer ‘Miss’, but then again, I’m an old fashioned kind of gal.
