I have been thinking in general about religion and spiritual belief. I am 17 now and I have been debating with myself for as long as I can remember on if I should beleive in any religion at all. On one side the thought of, ‘Religion is nothing more than man’s first attempt at science. They see the sun, the stars, they see the plants grow, the water run, and they can’t explain it. Their natural instinct is to belive that some kind of higher power is doing it. The modern christianity and spiritualality we have now is just an evolution of that. Now that we have science, religion is obsolete.’ and on the other hand I have ‘What if there is a heaven and a hell or some sort of afterlife? What if I ruin my chances of entering there? What if my denile in religion will condem me to hell for all eternity?’ See the debate I have with myself now? All my life I have lived with this. Any suggestions on how I can resolve this debate? I figure that I am not alone in this kind of problem. Thanks in advance -Ryan
