I think its because they are a hairy bunch (some but not all) and whenever they start to sweat the bacterica on their skin mixes with the sweat that is bound on their hair on their body which gives us a raw smell.

Being white maybe I don’t notice. I assume that raw means unwashed? I cannot claim to have noticed any particular smell associated with any race. Most white people say the same about blacks. I always reply that the smell is hair care products but I think we all just smell differently and we are not used to the smell of other races. Sometimes I ask my nonsmelling black friends if they smell our other black friends (that do smell) and they always say no.

What do you mean by ‘raw?’ I assume you mean nasty, or something similar. Perhaps you are smelling lower class whites, whites who work outdoors and sweat, etc. In my experience, black people tend to sweat more quickly, or have B.O. that is stronger than white people…but I can only assume this is based on socioeconomic class as well.

Maybe the white people you have been around have smelled bad, but I have smelled some nasty whites, blacks and Hispanics – it doesn’t matter. I used to think black people smelled bad, but then I went to cosmetology school with black people, and I realized it was just the smell of oil sheen, and that was it. So it could be anything. They could just be wearing some nasty perfume. But I definitely shower and I smell damn good!
