MaryParticipantLiving in a large city like Philadelphia, I see many crimes reviewed on the evening news. Please tell me why is it that when the victim of a crime is black and the criminal is white, it is assumed and reported the crime is ‘racially motivated’ but when the victim is white and the criminal is black, race is never an issue? Why do civil rights action groups come to defend a black victim of a racial crime but not a white one? I have also noticed if a black person is arrested forcefully, it is deemed that the police were acting upon the criminal’s color. The same thing does happen to white criminals but it is hardly ever reported nor acted upon and certainly not attributed to the person’s color even if some of the arresting officers were non-white.
