Poor People yelling

Why do poor (white or black) people yell across a larger distance to talk than richer people. My children attend a school with a broad range of incomes. The vast majority of people who feel it is OK to yell non-emergency things are poor. This would include sitting in their cars and honking for their children or rolling the window down and yelling. This includes their kids. I have seen a complete conversation about a lunch take place between two people who were each in a separate crowd of other people who were wincing from having to hear the two people yell at volume. The separation was around 100M. But when in a poor neighbourhood the cars are louder (Boomph Boomph Boomph)and people hang out their window and yell to people in other buildings who at the time are not in their windows. Lastly I have neigbours who come from a poor part of the country and it is almost a nightly occurance for someone to stand outside their house and yell for them instead of ringing the doorbell. So I guess my question is why do poor people make more noise in general? I have a simple test walk through the richest neighbourhood and then the poorest in you city and compare the un-nessesary noise generated by people.
