I agree with you that what goes on in your personal life is not anyone's business, but unfortunately that is not the case. The moment you start dating someone from the office, you will be the subject of everyone's scrutiny and gossip. Even if the person you are interested in is the sweetest, kindest person you have ever met, everything changes if and when you call it quits. You will find yourself in an extremely uncomfortable situation. Possibly the only way out will be to quit your job. Ask yourself if you are willing to do this.
