I’ve noticed many Christians view the belief in reincarnation with strong animosity (calling it ‘New Age’ and ignoring the historical origins). Is it typical for Christians to vehemently attack this ancient and cross-cultural belief? Doesn’t their religion profess transcendence also?

Christians don’t believe in reincarnation or afterlife on earth. We do, however, believe in eternal life in Heaven (or eternal damnation in Hell).

The main reason for this vehemence is reincarnation is not presented in the Bible at all. Going to heaven in the afterlife is the only path presented. This doesn’t mean that someone should be disrespectful of another’s beliefs. However, reincarnation, however historical and prevalent in Eastern-based religions, is not what’s presented as ‘what’s next’ in either the Bible or the Koran. Heaven is.
