Is there a difference between media ethics in an individualistic society (e.g. England, United States) and a communal society (e.g. China, Thailand)? Would the disaster that happened with Princess Diana ever occur in an Asian (communal) country?

No, opportunistic journalists would never cause the death of a celebrity in, say, China. However, a state-sponsored news organ would never take the initiative to topple a flagrantly unethical head of state, e.g. Nixon and Watergate.
