Living in Northern Virginia, there is a beautiful mix of races in my school. Currently, I am president of a student organization. There are roughly 4 white, 8 Middle Eastern, 6 Asian, and 2 black officers that work with me. Both of the black officers are male. Every time I ask them to pitch in and help (which I shouldn’t even ask considering they ran themselves for office) they never complete the task. I even deliver the request in a normal tone, even with some ‘umph’. It’s like pulling teeth to get them to do something. I don’t have this problem with my other officers. I’m beginning to believe that black people are really lazy. I believe this not only from working with those two officers but also by working with black people in the classroom, at work, and seeing there overall attitude in public places. Is work ethic something that they don’t emphasize in their homes? Please steer me from my racist view. It’s simply what I’ve come to believe from what I see.
