Melinda ScottParticipantHey parents, this one is for you~ I am a 17 year old student in my senior year of high school. I am part of a few (probably 10 at most) students who are actively involved in sports, clubs, volunteering, and academics. Many of my peers in general are lazy. I believe this is because their parents don’t teach them the value of hard work. I am an orphan who has had to work for every ounce of everything I ever wanted (made possible by the grace of God). Why are my peers so lazy? Why do they only volunteer and become active because it is required for class or because colleges say so? And furthermore, why don’t you parents discipline your kids? I work at a restaurant where I saw two parents give their kid a DVD player at the table so that he would be quiet. When I did have a mother she told me to be quiet before I got spanked or lost some privilege. So again, why are parents making lazy, undisciplined kids?
