ShelliParticipantI don’t think sexual harassment is exclusive to Hispanic males. I live in a city that has large Portuguese, Italian and Greek communities. The men make very blatant sexual comments toward women. I can deal with the comments now after having traveled to Italy a few summers back. I never felt so violated in my life. The men didn’t respect personal space. Not only did I have men saying things to me, I was groped on numerous occasions. It was extremely upsetting. I find that Asian and Anglo men tend to have more respect for women.

ShelliParticipantAsian men don’t harass their women. Does this mean that Asian women are weak like white women?

SandyParticipantI am also Hispanic born in Mexico but raised here. Despite not being raised in Mexico I know a great deal about our rich culture and have never met a person who though so low of it. When men throw piropos at me I do not crumble or am upset by it simply because not only hispanics do this. Haven’t you ever walked past a construction site where Anglos yell comments at you? And if so, does that mean that their culture is one of the basest and most perverted? Or that these men are desperate? Most of them are probably married to begin with.
