    Why do most blacks pronounce the word “ask” as “acts” as in, “I want to ‘acts’ you a question?”

    ‘Most Blacks’, Bob? That’s a pretty broad and sweeping combination of words isn’t it? Most Blacks I know use the english language with the same accuracy and enunciation that I’m assuming you do. Quite frankly, I find your question rather silly and not very well thought out. That is unless, being from Orange County, you made a deliberate attempt to be offensive.

    It’s actually not a ‘black’ thing but an east coast thing … at least that’s what I’ve been told. Listen to Billy Joel’s song ‘Don’t Ask Me Why’ and you will hear the exact same pronunciation.
