Why do some men think it's cool to brag about how much they can eat? I know guys who act like bottomless pits in a restaurant, yet they have no clue why their wives refuse to cook for them. What's up with this behavior?

There are a lot of guys who will brag about just about anything they can do if it's something other men don't quite seem to measure up to. So whether it's how fast their car is, how much they can bench press or how many slices of pizza they can eat, some men will brag about it. Showing off is a pretty common male urge.

Most men look to impress their peers by showing them up or equaling them in what they do. It's a common male thing to be 'better than everyone else.' I think it's more of a primal pride issue, where you impress the women by showing how many things you can do better than the other suitors.
