I am gay, as is my mother's sister's son. My partner's mother's sister's son is also gay. When I asked a few gay friends if they had any gay cousins, those that replied yes said that the cousins where mostly all on their mother's side of the family. I have a sneaking suspicion that my mother's father was gay- but since he ended his own life in 1964 we'll never know for sure. All this leads me to believe that a person inherits a 'gay' gene from his mother's side of the family and that this gene can only come from the mother...Does this seem off base? Does anyone know of any emperical studies done on homosexuality in family trees?
