Is it really possible to ‘forgive and forget’ when your spouse has been unfaithful?

I think the decision “not to tell” is a bad one. It breeds mistrust in the couple. And the injured party will find out. And then not only have you been unfaithful, you have essentially lied about it by leaving things unspoken. At least that is the way it would feel to me if my partner were to do this.

Personally I think men and women alike crave that Im In Love feeling or the feeling of being persued and once your married poof that is gone. So I think as long as it doesn’t happen all the time and its not a recurring thing with the same person then yeah you can forgive and forget. Who are we to deny love. You know just cause you do get married doesn’t mean you stay in ‘love’ forever. Marriages get stale real fast and I think that if more people were open to that fact there would be a lot less divorced people. As an example I was married for 8 yrs. At the time we were both in the USMC, and both had to travel alot out of the 8 years we were married we only saw each other about 3 of those years and not in length we actually went 2 years not even in the same country. So am I to say don’t even think of having something with another woman. My answer was heck no, I just told him do what you got to do but don’t get mushy about it. Men have to have sex the hand just doesn’t do it for that long come on be real. And it didn’t hurt our marriage and he learned new tricks too. So it wasn’t that bad, its when we both got out of the service and were together 24/7 that broke us up it got stale fast. So I say you can’t deny another person love or sex if they want it there going to do it with you or with out you, maybe if you let it happen once in awhile you wouldn’t be the single mom sitting home watching the kids while the ex hubby is with the new woman. Just something to think about..Happy hunting!!

The way that I look at it is if a man has been unfaithful, then he isn’t dedvoted to one person, he is not ready for a relationship (or her). If a man is still roaming then i don’t believe that he/she has founf the one in the person that he/she is unnfaithful to. If someone was to be unfaithful to me it would be done and over with, no exuses or exceptions.
