To female athletes: What does your activity consist of and how much do you train? What characterizes your dietary intake? How do you perceive your state of health (how do you feel)? Do you get regular periods? Do you wish to, and do you think menstruation is necessary for health?

If you eat the right amount of food/calories, and get enough vitamins and minerals, there aren’t any problems. Making sure you get enough iron is important. Getting your period could be the sign that you are treating yourself properly. Yes, extreme amounts of activity can prevent you from gettining your period. In some sports, you don’t really want to get your period because it is incovenient and disturbing. However, most female athletes accept it as part of being a healthy woman.
