ErikaParticipantIts all about sacrifice. If you have any caucasian roots then I am not surprised that you are asking this question. For black women it is a process to fix our hair. Washing and dressing our hair can easily take 2 hours or consume a entire night. Daily upkeep can also be a head ache. Think about this for a minute,If it already takes you 3 hours to wash your hair and if a bad hair day consisted of your hair deciding not to lay down all day long, wouldn’t you give up half a day for a month of hair freedom. Thats Y

bruce-wayne19292Participantfor the same reasons white women tan, receive collagen in their lips, have glutial implants, breast implants, rib removals. the difference is, the hair weaves can come out.

Lauren20865ParticipantI have a clip-in ‘weave’ that I love to wear. It’s so much fun. It makes me feel pretty, as cliched as that may sound. The only process that takes ‘hours,’ as you say, is braiding. I had a friend offer to do that on me because I had been saying I wanted it, but I changed my mind when she said she’d do half my head one day, I’d spend the night at her place, and she’d do the other half the next day!

PookieParticipantI have thin, fine hair and there’s not a lot I can do with it. I have several clip-on extensions to make it look prettier, and if I could afford it, I would get real extensions attached to my hair in a salon. It doesn’t take hours and they’re not pasted on, by the way. Every woman on the planet, regardless of race, has the right to look her best.
