East Indian people seem pushy

Over the years, it seems that every person from India that I have come across is very, very pushy and demanding, to the point of outright discourtesy. For instance, I own a duplex, and live in half and rent out the other. Recently a woman from India expressed interest; I was willing to show it to her was going away for a holiday weekend and told her I would call her when I returned. Because I also live there, I generally do not tell people the address until I have made an appointment for them to come look at it, but she pushed very hard and I finally told her the address, but told her I did not want drop ins and, in fact, would not rent to anyone, including her, who dropped in. She assured me she would never do that. Yet, the day after I got back, I saw someone driving slowly down the street, and sure enough, the car stopped, and she got out and walked up the path. I met her, asked if I could help her, and she at first pretended she hadn’t talked to me but had instead seen the ‘for rent’ sign, then admitted we had spoken. I told her that I had specifically asked that there be no drop ins, since the current tenant was still living there, and reminded her that I had, in fact, said I would NOT rent to her if she dropped in. Her response was ‘so I can’t see the place now then?’ I told her it was not convenient for either me or the current tenant and went back in my house, and, indeed, I will not rent to her, not because she is Indian but because, if she is like this before she rents, what would she be like if she was a tenant? But it seems not to be isolated; most of the East Indians I have run into are very pushy, and I have many friends who say the same. We are far from being racist or discriminatory, but are baffled by this behavior. Is it something cultural?
