How might someone who practices a homosexual lifestyle respond , specifically, to the following two arguments against homosexual tendencies being natural/inborn feelings: 1) The American Psychiatric Association used to consider homosexuality a treatable psychological disorder (like, for example, pedophilia still is) and 2) the growing number of people leaving their homosexual lifestyle.

They would probably reply with ‘you’re full of crap’ . First of all, I’m sure that The American Psychiatric Association used to do a lot of things that we now consider false. Cocaine was once prescribed to housewifes by docters. Is that a good justification for being a junkie? Of course not. Secondly, there were and are tons of people who lived ‘straight’ lives (were married and such) only to come out as gay after many years. Does that mean that all straight men are gay? Nope. If every gay person in the world besides one decided to ‘go straight’, would that mean that the one homosexual left was straight too? No, it doesn’t say anything about him besides that he’s in the minority now. I was surprised that you didn’t bring up the issue of homosexual non-human animals, most people with your type of questions do bring that up. Look into that if you really are interested, the have done research on homosexuality in every species from dogs to fruit flys.
