Well, I'm white and I make it a point to back into parking spaces every chance I get! However, there are situations where backing in to a space makes exiting more difficult: the exit of a parking garage or a parking lot with spaces at an angle (not perpendicular) to the flow of traffic. My rationale for backing into parking spaces is best explained with this question: When you take off your shoes, do you slip them off WITH or WITHOUT untying them? To me, backing into a parking space is like untying your shoes BEFORE removing them. Pulling forward into a parking space is like procrastinating - you're putting the hard work off until later.
