Excuse me, Dave: For one thing, black folks don’t have a claim on committing crimes or violence any more than anyone else on this planet. Furthermore, if you would do some research on the NAACP’s history, you’d find it was created at a time – in the early 20th century – when white people could not only say whatever they wanted but commit virtually any kind of atrocity you can imagine against black people – hangings, killings, shootings – for often no other reason than the simple fact that they could get away with it and never suffer the consequences. They are not a racist organization, and their job is to watch out for discrimination toward black folks – which still goes on in this day and age, whether you want to believe it or not.
And as for the Nation of Islam, puh-lease. Minister Farrakhan was crucified in the media for years -and rightly so – for his anti-Jewish views. I find it funny now that in the past couple of years since he’s toned down his rhetoric a great deal and has expressed more interest in working with Jewish organizations, the media has completely forgotten his existence.
And since when did only white people have a claim on being fair and honest? Try telling that to the people who worked for Enron and got robbed of all their life savings by their own bosses.
To B.V.: What other African-American celebrities with politically incorrect views are you talking about? Ali hasn’t been spouting these views for years, and you can’t even compare what he said with what Rocker said, because Ali had to fight against the stereotypes of what a black boxer was supposed to do in a much more racist time. Another thing: both the NAACP and the Nation Of Islam, even for their rhetoric, have never burned a cross in front of a white person’s home, ran them out of their neighborhood or threatened to wipe them out. The Klan and other white supremacist groups are known for doing all these things, so why the hell haven’t you acknowledged that fact?

As a Native American whose heritage also included oppression, surely you would be more understanding.

Different black tribes. Whites enslaved other whites and blacks enslaved other blacks. There is no excuse anymore for racial revenge. It is time now to stop scapegoating and seeking revenge for past wrongs. Yes whites do have to live with negative sterotypes, every day. We are supposed to be the only race who can hate, the only race who engaged in slavery and the only race who has done anything wrong in all of history. Whites are identified as having only done bad things in history excluding all the good we did and are still doing. Everyone has their bad and good. Lets look at the good instead of continuing this cycle of hatred and racial retribution. For instance we can see that whites ended slavery, a global practice, instead of beating up on little white kids because 400 years ago one of their ancestors MIGHT have owned a slave.

I just watched a movie called Traffic and there was a black and hispanic cop staking out a white drug dealers house. The black guys said ‘I wanna nail this guy’ and the hispanic said ‘you want to get the white man’ and they smiled knowingly. Reverse the race of the cops and the dealer and there would be an uproar. The anger among whites is increasing because of this kind of racism and the media ignores it. If we want to end racism shouldn’t we apply the same standards on race to everyone? Minorities can say any outrageous, racist thing they want about the white majority and get a pass. If a white guy says a similar thing, it will cost him his job. There is a reason for the double standard, though. It’s all about power. The more powerful the group, the higher the standard. A good analogy is two brothers, one 5 years old and small and the other 10 years old and much bigger and stronger. The little kid can get away with harrassing his older brother without his parents punishing him too much because everyone knows he doesn’t have the power to do any real harm. On the other hand if big brother bullies little brother, there will be hell to pay because it’s not fair and he could do some real harm. So, it doesn’t really bother me when minorities say racist things about whites. It only makes them look ingnorant and at the end of the day, we still have more of everything.
