Does anyone think that strictly black beauty pageants are racist? It seems like it is acceptable where I live. I go to a local college and they have an annual miss college pageants and then they have a miss black college pageant. What is interesting is that black girls can participate in both pageants but it is not the same for whites or other minorities to participate in the second pageant. Do we as a people let the second pageant happen for any reason other than to let the black people have pride in a pageant? And another question…is this segregation helpful or hurtful? Just wanting to know…
