Is it my imagination, or do people have smaller heads in relation to the rest of their bodies than they used to? I keep noticing in old photographs (e.g., from the 1940s) that people seem to have such large heads. Oddly enough, this is especially prominent in wedding photographs. Could it be that people now grow taller and larger (due to better nutrition and perhaps growth hormones in food) but the size of the skull is not as variable? Put another way, are people’s heads the same size they always were, just on larger bodies?
