Just because he likes to anally penetrate you doesn't mean he wants to be penetrated. I'd ask or suggest before you take the initiative. As for the nails, definitely trim at least one of them before inserting. As for a plan of action, I'd do it over several sessions before actually penetrating him. I agree with the person who responded saying that you should test the waters first. Try rubbing during sex, and then work up to inserting part of a finger during oral.
