Brianne23061ParticipantA few months ago at my school, a group of German foreign exchange students came. The class was genuinely interested in learning about Germany and how being a teenager there is different than here. Everyone tried to be as polite as possible. Recently, I noticed myself doing the same thing. I work as a food runner at a movie theater-combination-restaurant. I brought food to a man who asked for an extra beer in an English accent. Normally, I would tell them that I couldn’t take orders, as I wasn’t a server, but I decided to go ahead and get it for him, simply because he was British, and I didn’t want to give him a bad impression of Americans. Does anyone else notice that we seem to treat foreigners, especially Europeans, who come over here better because we want to try to combat the ‘ugly American’ stereotype?
