Why do African-Americans, specifically younger women, feel the need to be so ‘flamboyant’ — in their speech, dress, attitude, etc.? Frankly I think it just makes them seem annoying and uneducated.

Wow, I thought this must be a Jacksonville thing. Frankly, I think “flamboyant” is an understatement. Every black person I encounter, whether it be in Walgreens or Walmart, is either singing loudly to themselves and/or dancing, and/or talking loudly on the phone or to someone else. Usually their outfits are as loud as they are. I guess modesty and being humble don’t exist in black culture. What is it about having to stick out so much?
