How can a white man (DJ and rapper Paul Wall) and an Asian man (?) be crowned the ‘Kings of Grills’? Basically this is gold or jewelry on your teeth. As a black Southerner, this has been part of our culture since long as I could remember. When you reached a certain age, you requested a gold tooth for your birthday. I just would like to know how is this possible?

Yeah, I mean for as long as I can remember Santa, Jesus, priests, teachers, firemen, popular singers, famous sports stars, journalists, and the rich were always white. What are all these blacks doing taking over my culture? Integration between cultures goes both ways, my friend. Why shouldn’t some of your ‘black’ culture become open to ‘white’ or other cultures? Paul Wall is the ‘King of Grills’ because that was his occupation before becoming a rapper. That is how he got into the rap ‘game.’ He made grills in Houston and he got in with Swisha House which is a Houston record label. He grew up in the predominantly black neighborhoods of Houston. So he’s not some ‘suburban white kid’ who decided he wanted to be a rapper. So he doesn’t just wear the grills, he makes and customizes them; that’s how he is the so-called ‘King of Grills.’ As for the Asian man, I have no idea… but I’m betting that he makes them, too.
